Streets of Florence

Florence (Firenze in Italian) is the capital city of Tuscany. It is the most populous city in Tuscany. Famous for its history, Florence was the center of medieval European trade and finance. It is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance and has been called "the Athens of the Middle Ages."

The city is noted for its culture: Renaissance art, architecture and monuments. It contains numerous museums such as the Uffizi Gallery (of which we did not have time to go to). Florence is an important city in Italian fashion ranked as one of the top 50 fashion capitals of the world.

All of the fountains in Florence were without water and shut down while we were visiting. Apparently, they had a bad storm with high winds and hail. They had shut down all of the fountains to check them out after the hail storm. Unfortunate for us...

The following pictures are from various street scenes in Florence.
